Allison Chinchar works as a forecaster of weather for CNN and HLN. She is often featured for CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Before joining CNN in June the year 2015, she had worked at numerous local radio stations which included those in Atlanta as well as Nashville. The meteorologist has covered hurricanes, floods, wildfires and even storms. In the year 2019, she was nominated for an Emmy award for covering Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. In April 2011 she covered super tornado outbreak, which saw 350 tornadoes strike the Southeastern United States within four days. The worst of them were recorded on the 27th of April the day of the Super Tornado Outbreak. Her experience as an environmental researcher enabled her to write stories about climate change as well as natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. Chinchar holds a Bachelor's Degree in Atmospheric Science, which she received from The Ohio State University. She's also a part of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
