Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an actor, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. When she moved from Greece to England from Greece when she was 16, she received a MA with Economics from Cambridge University. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. A conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she was able to be an influential voice for the Huffington Post. Her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna became famous during 2003 when she volunteered in the California recall election in the place of Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of a Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th position in the list and in the same year the Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media group in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. While she was close to her father, her connection to her mom was the defining factor in the course of her entire life. She was a leader from the beginning. At 16 years of age she relocated into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate group. Being the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she served as the head for the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she graduated with an advanced degree in Economics. She worked as a critic television host, and columnist upon her graduation. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
